Thanks for the replies. Yes the belt is jammed in the secondary. I've tried pulling on the belt. I've soaked it with a good penetrating oil. I'll be having another look at it this weekend. The primary clutch "looks" ok and I've also revved the engine while in neutral to help it along.

Is there slack on the primary while the belt is stuck in the secondary. If there is no slack in the front, the front is likely stuck, not the rear (the rear is a symptom of front stuck). take the cap off the front clutch and see.

Thanks everyone for the input. The primary was the issue. I greased the primary and ran the engine in neutral till it finally snapped back. It's working fine now.
