If a battery isn't taken care of it doesn't matter who makes it, it will fail early.

On this subject. What are you doing about the core charge. I have bought several carts over the years that had no batteries.
For a long time the core rate was 10.00 now I'm told they want 40.00.
So In my case, I'm buying sam's batteries because they still only charger me at the lower rate. May be different in other places.

I had a 82 EZ-GO given to me and it was a really nice cart. It was given to me when my wife and I started golfingabout9 years ago[ it came with a cart-shed to, our club values those around a grand] So I put some Sam's batteries on it and ran it for several seasons with those and no problems and even bought another cart and did the same [bought new from sam's ] and it preformed well for a long while. The 06 that I have now had Sam's Batteries that I ran from 08 to 12 when I bought local. I kinda miss the 82 that was given to me, it was dark blue had been repainted and was super clean since it was gifted to me I let my cousin borrow it for around his house and just the other day someone ask him about it just starting out in golf and since it was given to me I gave it to them, never met them don't even know their name just pass on good fortune when it happens it will come back to you some how. Coulda made it interresting, trade it for a 12 pack. Then they could say "paid a 12 pack for it".
Truly nice gesture tho.

Every Sam's has a different core charge. The one nearest me is $10 and will accept ANY lead acid battery as core turn in for a golf cart battery.

Another Sam's 30 miles away only has a $5 core.

You can often find one lying in the bushes of a vacant lot. I've even seen them parking lots where folks just swapped them out. When I went from six to eight, I found a big school bus battery and even got more back than the core, due to its size. Somewhere, there's a car up on jack stands and the owner may be willing to donate the battery for a couple of beers.
