Default Broken bolts

On the new build I have one broken bolt on each side in the front where the frame for the roof bolts. One is about flush with the outside, the other is in a little ways. I have drilled and drilled and gotten no where. gone through a number of expensive drill bits. Any ideas??? I am afraid I will not be able to get them out.

Keep drilling, low speed, cutting oil. You'll get through eventually. It's just steel.

Thanks, I have been going at it at as high speed as my drill would produce. Shows how much I know.

Kojo,

I can't seem to find cutting oil locally. Will some other type oil work as a suitable substitute?

Those are hardened bolts. I broke several ez-outs, and finally decided it was too much effort to try and drill in the middle, and sacrificed the threads on the frame and used a nut and bolt. It takes a lot of effort to drill them, but just be persistent.

I have had good results with left hand drill bits.

Found Oatey Dark Thread Cutting oil at Home Depot. I'll try that and I guess I need to get a drill bit sharpener. Any suggestions?

I drill out a lot of manifold bolts on cars and trucks. You need better drill bits. Start small and be sure you are in the center.
