Softer ride for bumpy golf course

Have seen a few threads for soft rides on the road, but I'm looking for a softer ride on our very bumpy golf course. Have lowered tire pressure down to 15lbs but still a rather hard ride. I don't bottom out. Will gas shocks help? 2001 Club Car DS - stock leaf springs (and probably the original shocks). Any advice appreciated (other than advising me to "drive slower stupid").

CC DS has probably the roughest ride of all. Unfortunately beyond a softer tire there is not much you can do. The so called shacks are actually dampers and do nothing to absorb impact really. They just dampen the spring rate.

Scotty, if the DS is the harshest factory riding cart then what would be the softest riding factory cart available today?

I would say Yamaha would be the softest, due to having coil suspension on all 4-corners,vs leafs front and rear on ClubCar and EzGo.

Ah, I had forgot about that. Might have to pay a visit to their section here on BGW and inquire on the best recommended version.

I went from EZGO with HD leaf springs to a Yamaha G29. The ride on the G29 is MUCH better. It handles better and has a tighter turning radius as well. I rode on a CC DS today in the campground and it rode about the same as my old EZGO. I am not bad mouthing the other carts by any means just giving my opinion on the ride difference.

Can't you upgrade the CC and EZGO carts to an independent front and/rear suspension? Wouldn't that be cheaper than buying a new cart?

With some work,they can be modified,alot depends on ability and finances.I would build a simpl Ladder-Bar type suspension in the rear,and add coil-overs.The front can be a little more complex,and Double A-Arms or Long-Travels can get pricey.I think that changing the rear over would greatly improve the ride.
