Default Another "power drive 2 charger not shutting off"

02 Club Car ds 48v cart
Charger is not shutting off after 16 hours of continuous charging
When I plug end into cart charger waits about 10 seconds or so, clicks, hums, and amp meter jumps to 8 amps. It trickles down over this long 17 hour period and hangs at about 4 amps and will not shut off. Here are my voltage readings.
Pack voltage on charge after 17 hours. Charger @ 4 amps
61.2 volts
Batt 1-- 10.29v neg lead
Batt 2-- 10.46v new batt
Batt 3-- 9.98v
Batt 4-- 10.11v
Batt 5-- 10.06v
Batt 6-- 10.13v pos lead

30 minutes after charging
Pack -- 53.2v
Batt 1-- 8.90v neg lead
Batt 2-- 8.81v new batt
Batt 3-- 8.79v
Batt 4-- 8.85v
Batt 5-- 8.89v
Batt 6-- 8.88v pos lead

1 hour after charging
Pack -- 52.6 v
Batt 1-- 8.82v neg lead
Batt 2-- 8.69v new batt
Batt 3-- 8.74v
Batt 4-- 8.77v
Batt 5-- 8.81v
Batt 6-- 8.81v

Battery #2 in my list has been replaced with same brand of battery because the old one ended up with a dead cell. The original ones are only 1 1/2 years old and have been maintained well with only distiller water. I've also tried resetting the obc but still hasn't changed.

I know the more knowledgable guys will want to know the readings after 12 hours off charger. From what I remember your voltage may not be reaching cut off voltage for the system.

Well in that case I still have 10 hours to wait to get the 12 hours off charger reading which puts me at about 2 am.😴

I don't think you need to wait up until 2am. Just check them in the morning. I think the thing is to wait at least 12 hours. That allows the surface charge to bleed off.

Those are great readings IMO, is the main neg going through the obc? Is it the only main neg, or do you also have a bypass cable on the neg. if not there must be something wrong with the obc. It tells the charger when to turn off. I'm just guessing from what I have read on this site. Hopefully someone who really knows will jump in.

Yes the main negative lead passes thru the obc but I will triple check to be sure. The only other negative wire on the whole battery system is the new digital lcd volt meter that I mounted on the dash for measuring pack voltage, so the kids know when to put it back on charge. This has been going on since before I installed this gauge though.

Also wanted to note that I haven't seen my battery warning light turn on in a very long time
