Not sure what else it could be.
Yep, I think you're right. Problem is how can I prevent this from happening.

I am wondering if I can get a hose underneath and into the frame so I can spray the mess out.

It does not appear I can do anything just by taking off the seat and spraying into the battery compartment.

What do you think I should do?

if it was me I would remove the seat and batteries , neutralize everything , clean and paint (or use bed liner spray ) all rails , clean all battery posts and cables , reinstall and spray terminals with protective spray.

I've attached photos. One is white stuff on garage floor (I have nature stone to prevent any confusion)

The other is the battery compartment. The compartment seems fairly clean so I am surprised.

I did notice a small metal hook in the white stuff this time.

Is this part of a larger issue? How concerned should I be? I don't think taking batteries would solve the problem as it looks rather clean in there.

Please let me know. Thanks.

Do this, you need to see what is going on down there, just to be safe it is worth the time.

Wasps have a paper like nest. If it was coming from the batteries there would also be a lot of corrosion on the batteries to.
