Default One time backfire

Have a 95' yam g-14 that runs good most of the time, but after driving for awhile and coming to a stop and the motor guits running ,the engine backfires just once, kind of comical, Any suggestions ? Did put new spark plug, fuel and air filter and compressioncheck was good . Thanks.

Does your carb close all the way?

Yep, might be a throttle cable adjustment.

Make sure the idle screw or cable is not holding the throttle butterfly open in the carb. That is the most known reason.

Sorry it took alittle long to reply, Carts up at the cottage and finally got to look at it. After looking at the carb, found that the throttle cable did need adjusting which did solve the backfires. Thanks for the help !
