^^^unfortunately when the connecting rod bearing shredded it took out my jug...way too deep to bore out the damage (trust me I tried). No piston available and would have been past the max bore capabilities of the jug. :(

Short answer yes. You can visually see the rear seal and spray it to test, but likely your front seal would look like this if you have had a backfire

If it's leaking fuel , then the crankshaft seal is blown and needs replaced. It's the easy one.
