That shaking is you drive belt slipping, My 89 Club Car does that too!
Spent a fortune to get a new heavy duty clutch and heavy duty spring, same result, tried another belt, same thing. These flat head engines only had 8.5 HP when new, and with years of service I'd bet your compression is down a bunch form the 100 PSI it came with. My problem too. I 'm looking for a replacement engine that is a bolt in for my 89 that now has no hill climb left it it like yours. Any Ideas? I'd like 20 HP and more pulling power. Much less cost than a new cart. Anybody done that to an old DS? |

ok,i did a lot of looking in different forums. So i replaced both clutches and i didn't replace belt because the belt was fairly new. Wellllll i was referred to talked to the guys at Gboost technology and after i told him what i had and what i have done he told me it was my belt....well i bought a gboost belt. Holy smokes batman it was the belt, now i can climb hills(solo) and cart is still doing 20 mph we will see what she does with the ol lady on it.....i want to thank u guys for all the help
