Torque loss after lift - 2005 Precedent
I have a 2005 CC Precedent- gas with a 6" lift and 23" tires. It runs great on the street and grass and keeps up with the other carts in my neighborhood/golf course. Except when it comes to hills. The lower carts, while not burning the asphalt up can noticeably make it up the hills in our neighborhood better than I can. I've yet to not make it up a hill, but it is definitely slow going.
That being said, short of replacing the engine, would any of the mods in the Performance upgrade thread help in that respect? I have not messed with the governor yet. Still has stock clutch/drive spring. Any tips or advice? Would a newer cart with the FE350 experience the same torque woes I'm having if lifted and 23's? |

Re: Torque loss after lift - 2005 Precedent
So I was getting as fast as 17mph, average 15mph on somewhat level ground. Some of the steeper hills the cart slowed down to 7mph. I’ll get out tomorrow and hit some of the steeper hills on the golf course.

Yeah that's what you give up with bigger tires.
First thing I would do is get torque springs for the clutches, and a heavy duty belt. Cart Parts Plus sells everything you need for that. |

I did the zip tie trick and i got it running 22mph on level ground and 12-15mph up the same hills.
