Default RXV Battery Charger Question

I have a 2010 RXV with 2018 Trojan T1260 batteries and runs fine.

The charger I received with my cart is the DeltaQ SC shown below and I have seen unfavorable comments about it.

My cart is used daily, but only for about 5 miles or so. Always plugged in when not in use and it doesn't get stored for months as we're full timers.

I've read about chargers with a "maintenance function" and have a question. Is it worth upgrading this charger to one with such a function ?

OPINION: In your case, keep that one 'til it quits and then get a better one.

I have the same charger as Chevota guy for my 2015 RXV. Since it does not have a maintenance function, WHEN we travel for weeks at a time would it work to plug it in a timer so that every time the timer kicks on it starts the charging function anew and therefore maintains the batteries? BTW, how much current does the input side of the charger typically draw?

Has to be unplugged from the CART and replugged to start a new cycle. Unplugging from the wall won't do it ......so no. I don't recall if anyone ever figured a way around this but I don't recall a lot of things anymore.

May sound crazy but I was going to build a contraption to do something just like that. Lawn sprinkler timer that has a function where I could just turn it on once every 2 weeks, 24 volt 5 pole relay and some wiring. Basically the relay would be wired so when off there would be a connection to charge. When the timer energizes the relay it would disconnect the pack from the charger for say 5 minutes then turn off reconnecting the pack and charger would kick back on. In theory.
