How to test a motor?
I have a club car ds series motor and I have gone through 3 navitas controllers. My motor moves but I’m wondering how to test the motor to make sure it’s not killing my controller. Should I ohm each connection? I have an A1, A2 and S1 and S2. Any help would be appreciated

Re: How to test a motor?
When disconnected. There should be continuity between the two A terminals and between the two S terminals. There should be no continuity between any A and any S terminal.

Re: How to test a motor?
I tested the motor on continuity. And the Ohms reads 0.2 on the S terminals and also on the A terminals. Is there anything else I can do to see if the motor is at fault for killing my controllers?

Re: How to test a motor?
By case? Does that mean from S1 to A1, S1 to A2, S2 to A2, S2 to A1? If so there is no continuity between those. And the ohms doesn’t register anything.

Re: How to test a motor?
Case is the motor steel shell itself. All of the four terminals should be isolated from the case. Very important!

Re: How to test a motor?
So I tested each terminal to case and no continuity. I also checked ohms and it didn’t read anything. So I’m assuming that means the motor is good. All my connections where nice and tight. All newer wiring. Could the motor somehow be building up too much current? Navitas told me to take the motor to an alternator shop. Could they test anything that I haven’t tested yet?
