Default No Movement After Cable Upgrade

Hi I recently upgraded to 2ga cables and have run into a problem. My cart won't move. I have a navitas controller and have no errors, the solenoid clicks, and continuity seems to check out on the motor. I did leave the stock 6ga cable going through the OBC and ran the new 2ga around it. Would that cause my cart not to move or do I have a problem somewhere else? Thank you

If you are keeping the OBC, you should probably leave the 6 ga cable only. Don't bypass the OBC with another cable.

Did you make any sparks changing out the cables?

Everything was good until I pressed the pedal after finishing. One of my big cables on the solenoid touched the small terminal. That solenoid wouldnt click or anything but it does now that I've replaced it.

If the big cable from pack+ touched the small terminal you should be ok.

If the big cable that goes to B+ on the controller touched the small terminal near it that goes to pin 12 on the controller, you may have a damaged controller. That would put 48v positive directly into pin 12 which is 48v negative.

Great, it was the cable coming off the battery directly to the solenoid.

Not sure if that's the best thing to do, there are a few topics here on this project. But you should never drop a wire size in the middle of a series like that. For long term permanent fix, if you cannot get the #2 to slip in the obc, use a through bolt to fit and lug each side would be my suggestion.

With the go pedal up, and one rear wheel off the ground, check for 48 volts across the two large solenoid contacts. You should have 48 volts.

Then push the go pedal and you should read zero volts.

If you still read 48 volts with the pedal pushed and the solenoid clicks, The solenoid terminals got twisted during tightening and the contact is misaligned.

Always make sure the large solenoid terminals, or any motor or control terminal does not turn even slightly when tightening. Always back them up with another wrench.

That may be your problem.
