Before I cut....2nd Opinion....WIRING
I have a 2014 precedent with factory light kit that included an OEM voltage reducer that is all neatly connected via factory harnesses.
I am getting ready to replace that factory voltage reducer with one of a larger capacity so I can run additional accessories and believe I can reuse all of the wiring but want some confirmation as well as anything I might be missing. 1st pic shows OEM reducer and the 5 wires coming out split into two different factory connectors. 2nd pic shows the new reducer and its wiring. If I'm thinking about this correctly I would cut the two adapters off the factory harness and connect them as follows: Original Harness wire description TO New Reducer Wire description BLUE INPUT 48V POS TO RED INPUT POS YELLOW INPUT 48V GND BLACK INPUT NEG WHITE INPUT ENABLE 48V GREEN ACC/KEY PIN ORANGE OUTPUT 12V POS YELLOW OUTPUT POS BLACK OUTPUT 12V GND BLUE OUTPUT NEG Seems simple enough, but feel like it never is? Also, unsure if "white input enable" and "green acc/key pin" are really the same...i followed that wire and it goes into a relay on the dash so believe it is good. I'm probably being overly cautious but just want to "cut once"! THANKS |
