Default Ezgo txt 36v no solenoid click

I am having trouble figuring out this cart. I’ve read through many forums and watched a bunch of videos and everything is testing correct. I have no click to the solenoid unless I supply B- to the blue terminal of the solenoid.

Reed is already bypassed, have pack voltage at pedal switch input and output. Have power at key switch, I have power at FNR switch in both directions. Reverse buzzer work. Even with B- supplied to the blue terminal the cart will still not move. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Almost sounds like a controller issue if you have voltage at all those switches. When you say you bypassed the reed switch, are you saying you still have B+ applied to that red wire?

Yes I have B+ applied to the red wire. That is what I keep leaning towards. From my understanding the controller will supply ground to the solenoid from the blue wire once everything in the activation circuit is good.

Well then, if you've checked all the switches in the B+ line then it's really sounding like a controller issue. You might consider upgrading to an Alltrax that will run on 36 and 48 volts. Why, just because you might want to go to 48 volts in the future. By the way, your batteries look ugly! Time to clean them up!

I am just repairing it for a local school so I’ll just go with the original but thank you for the info. I was pretty sure it was a controller but wanted some verification.

Got a new controller in and installed it. Hit the pedal and the cart moved forward so I went ahead and put everything back together and went to go for a test drive. Hit the pedal and heard a pop from the controller. I could smell the controller had burned up. Contacted the supplier and thought it was possibly a bad controller. They sent me a replacement, put it in, and the exact same thing happened. Double-checked all the wiring and everything seems good. Does this point at the motor being shorted and smoking the controller? Is there a way to test the motor?

The Alltrax shouldn't smoke even with a shorted motor. Should be protected, and only show a fault. Could you have possibly installed the diode backwards on the the solenoid? That would cause a pop and smoke, and usually blows the pedal micro switch.
