Re: Coil Grounding on 88 EZGO
Where have you seen ignitors? I was going to pop $120-140 for an NOS Pulsar on fleabay (they wanted $175 for an NOS at the closest EZGO dealer) but I found a new one on Bu@@ies Unlimited for $96, however I still never DID find an ignitor unit (which with the HEI I guess is a mute point, I just like to keep a list of all potential vendors, etc on these things)

Re: Coil Grounding on 88 EZGO
Great news, a story with a happy ending and also an educational thread. There is clearly a lesson to be learned here. Maybe I might try wrapping a few turns of wire around one of the pulsar wires to create an inductive loop, set the DVM on A.C. and see if I can get a reading for a working pulsar. Clearly just measuring the resistance is not enough.
Enjoy your cart. Dave Box |

Re: Coil Grounding on 88 EZGO
The pulser will produce about a half volt ac while cranking. I never use a ohm meter to check them. If it make voltage it has to work. Pulse generators are on all kinds of every day things especially your car or truck. They probably have a dozen or more.
