How to ID cart
I just got an EZ-GO gas cart, 4 stroke, metal body. I am pretty sure this is a Marathon but I am trying to determine the year. The tag from under the right side of the dash is not there. And I don't see an ID tag under the seat either.
Is there another way to figure the year out? |

Here are a couple of pics. I cannot find any tag or decal in the "glove box" area.

Re: How to ID cart
I believe it to be a 93 model, I think that was the first year they put that motor in the older marathon carts, in 94 they changed the body style to the medalist, which looks more like the current style but had a metal body as well and a front nose clip, it also is a pre-mci motor, they did not come out until 05.

Is there a way to decode the serial #'s from the engine? I think this one will need a rebuild soon.

Re: How to ID cart
If you don't know the history of your cart that shopezgo site may not help.
In my case, the result of a serial number search on shopezgo says it's a 1992 but the MFG code ends in 89 saying it's an 1989...and the cart's got a PG-2 motor in it and everything else seems to match up with an 88 1/2 (early 89 before they changed to the PG-3 motor setup). Just a FYI! |
