Difference between ST 2+2 and ST Sport II ?
OK guys help me out here. I have been shopping new carts for a while now and have narrowed it down to these two gassers. Besides the 2+2 having a rear seat, and the Sport II having a cargo bed, what is the difference between these carts? Dimensionally they are identical according to the EZGO website, they have the same accessories, except the 2+2 has a horn. I had one dealer tell me over the phone the suspension is different on the 2+2 and is an upgrade from the Sport II as well as 1-2" more lift. From looking at them the only difference I can tell is the 2+2 has a differet front axle giving it more ground clearance at the front. The local dealer in town has one of each but I can't put a tape measure to them because they have different wheel assemblies. I really would like to know what constitutes a $1500 difference in these carts and what I might be missing out on if I went with the Sport. I would like to put 23x10.50-12 wheels on in stock form if I could get away with it.
Thanks, Allen |

Re: Difference between ST 2+2 and ST Sport II ?
Mine was labeled as a Sport II 2+2.
Had a 2+2 sticker added on top of the Sport II sticker. It has 23" 489's on it with plenty of clearance. I saw a Sport II at another dealership & the steering linkage was different. Don't know if that's the only difference or not. |

So did it have a dump bed or rear seat? I'm wondering if they added a seat in place of the bed, which is kinda what I've been thinking of doing to avoid the markup$$.

It had a rear seat.
And by the way, that factory EZGO rear seat isn't very comfortable to ride on. The bench part of it is too narrow. Makes you feel as though you're gonna slide off of it. |

2+2 has 4" lift and 22" tires standard
spt 2 has 2" lift and 20" tires standard - the lift is basically the 2" mid-lift EZGO sells. The sport 2 is not really designed for a rear seat, but some dealers put them on anyway. they are not a direct bolt on due to the rear frame being different. |

Re: Difference between ST 2+2 and ST Sport II ?
you have the price difference in tires, lift and the rear seat cost more than the bed. Plus if the 2+2 you are looking at has the long top installed that is also more. the 2+2 comes in more colors.
plus the demand for the 2+2 is more so naturally the 2+2 cost more. |
