1999 Club Car 48v Powerdrive plus motor question!!
Remodeling my 99 regen 2 and noticed today the speed sensor has been removed off the motor. Should I be concerned? According to my parts manual it says the model should be 101854601 and the part number on the motor is 101854501. That's for the help!!

Re: 1999 Club Car 48v Powerdrive plus motor question!!
The Regen 2 doesn't have to have the speed sensor hooked up to run. All of that changed when the IQ came out because the IQ was capable of much higher speeds than the Regen 2. If the speed sensor is unplugged on a Regen2 you'll get 14-15MPH with no motor braking. If the speed sensor is unplugged on an IQ you'll go into limp mode and get 8mph. If this safety feature wasn't built into the IQ to shut down when the circuit isn't detected it would get speeds over 20MPH in which many feel is unsafe for golf.
