Re: Can Any sponsors beat this price? Rear seat kit.
I purchased this seat from steeleng yesterday. Picked it up at their store. Installed last night.
My review is as follows. It's an okay seat for the money. Remember you get what you pay for. It did not bolt right up. Had to do minimal mods and fabrication. And the directions that it comes with are horrible. I'd buy it again if I needed one for another cart but only for the price point. I can deal with a little headache install to save a hundred bucks or so. |

Re: Can Any sponsors beat this price? Rear seat kit.
I agree with ReelTight 100%. I installed this seat on my DS about a year ago. The instructions were not very good, but that seems typical any more. I had to do some grinding on the foot platform in order to make it fit. Also, the seat supports are not as sturdy now; and required some modification. For the price point, it is a good value. It is a very basic seat. If you want to carry anything in the folded down "box", you have to build sides that are removable. We built a "bottomless" box that we use when we want to haul anything. Made it out of scrap wood, and it works well. Remember that when you add a back seat, you may have to modify your rear suspension. To be honest, if I had to do it over again, I would buy a better (more expensive) seat.

And you make a good point. A good price is not always the best deal. I have found "cheap" seat kits but have to be modified to fit. I have no problem paying a little more for one that can be installed easily with no hassles.

Re: Can Any sponsors beat this price? Rear seat kit.
Boggs,
I was wondering how you made out with your Steeleng seat. I just finished my install last night. I wasn't very happy for several reasons. Footplate didn't line up to bumper mounting holes and feels pretty flimsy. Roof struts were not drilled to the correct height. Not even close. The seat brackets moved the driver seat back rest forward almost an inch and makes the cart almost uncomfortable to drive. I can't imagine how it would be if I were bigger. Just too close to the steering wheel. The price was good, but would have paid more for a better seat. I usually don't worry about paying a little extra for a great product. Pay once, cry once. But, the seat had a lot of great remarks, so I went for it. I hope you had a better experience. After the Mardi Gras festivities I'm probably going to look for another kit. Here comes the second set of tears. I'm going to checkout Madjax and All Sports. If you know anyone that has either I'd like to hear about them. Welcome and good luck on your build. Re: Can Any sponsors beat this price? Rear seat kit.
I use STEELENG rear flip seats here all the time. Yes, you can spend more money, but these are actually decent rear seats. I have tried others as well, but many will need the adjustments or drilling holes out too. I prefer these as they are not plastic junk that will run 300+.....for the money, they are good units. Mind you, I know the adjustments to do on them now as I can't count how many of these I have put on.
