looks like I will replace the motor on the calif. roaster golf cart.
my question is. Is it better to rebuild the original or buy a new one

I don't believe that motor is a standard Club Car motor...the California Roadsters used an 11hp motor...when I looked at mine the other day...I could tell it was quite a bit larger than the motor that my CC DS had in it. I would check to see if it had a number on it somewhere before making any assumptions. If you are handy I would suggest pulling the motor out first and checking the posts to make sure there isn't any loose connections or spun posts caused by tightening the cable without using two wrenches. You could also communicate with AGC in California that made the cart. info@californiaroadster.com They may have some info. Once you have a number of the motor you could call PlumQuick to see if it's something they can handle. Just some thoughts. Because I have the same cart I would be interested in what you find out...

up date, I found out this California roadster is made in china. most of the frame is club car.
I just took the motor out and it has no name on it just a number CJ06010086
all the cables going to the motor look in bad shape, like they were getting hot. I don't know if they came from china or not.
I don't know how to post pictures but if crash test would help me again I could text him the pictures.
I want to buy a new motor but need some help to ID it

I believe I finally got the attachments uploaded correctly.

That looks,like a standard club car motor but with different terminal labeling.

I would replace wires and motor. PlummQuick is a good option.

Do you guys think 2 or 4 guage wires should be used?
Is there any way to tell the HP on this motor.

can someone tell me the measurement between the mounting holes of a club car motor?
The motor that I took out of the roadster has bolt holes 3.75in and 5.96in from the bolt hole to the mounting lug. and the motor is 6in across for the mounting plate flange.
I'm working with plum quick to find a motor, with out getting one from china

If you ship the Motor to plum quick, he will rebuild it with the same housing and you won't have to worry about the bolt holes lining up. They will be the same.
