Re: 89DS build
I think I underestimated the terrain of my new hunting camp. The cart has surprised me greatly with torque and power but after a short time of riding I get voltage drop when going uphill outside the numbers I have seen on most posts when searching here. At what point will it start causing issues and will a new torque motor and turning up the controller help? I should mention I am in no need for power it performs great just that the meter drops down to 42-44 volts when under a severe load but recovers quickly when back to normal operating conditions. Also there was once where it started pulsating at the low voltage but again as soon as I got leveled off it came back to 49.9 v in a short time.

Re: 89DS build
What im asking is will having the more power at hand require less draw on the batteries to perform the task? And if so will I permanently damage anything to continue to run like this until I can afford the motor.

So no worries about the surging? I shouldn't have been in that situation anyway but you know how that goes. Gotta push it to the limits.

Re: 89DS build
The pulsing might be a concern? Make sure your water levels are correct and the batteries are fully charged each time you go out.
40v is the point at which I believe a battery problem is showing up. |

Re: 89DS build
Fully charged checked water and brand new 8v Trojans. if I get the torque motor am I right in thinking that it will have more power therefore draw less off the batteries to tackle a hill and ultimately get more run time than the same setup on the same terrain with a factory motor?
