Foward and reverse stick
I have a 84 gas ezgo. I was wondering if there should be a spring on the linkage to go from forward to reverse. I work on a golf course and I don't do the work on this cart. It seems like something is missing. The maintenance worker put a nylon tie wrap on it and it works better but not 100 %

Re: Foward and reverse stick
Are you sure it's an 84? There is no linkage on an 84. They are 2 strokes that use an electrical switch to reverse directions of the starter.

4 cylinder? I think you mean 4 stroke.. and that would have to be newer than an 84.

Re: Foward and reverse stick
There should be a spring above and below the lever on the rear axle for each cable. Those cables are a pain they do get sticky and sometimes kinked where they run by the skid plate.
