Need advise on a project
So here is where I am. I bought a 2008 MPT800 as a big block project, it has a cab and a dump bed that I removed to make it more "cart like". While getting my head wrapped around my new toy a deal on a 2004 TXT fell in my lap. I decided to build the TXT instead. It is a runner but the rear end had an issue. We took the transaxle and heavy duty leaf springs out of the workhorse and put in the TXT. My question is; how difficult is it to split one of these ME29 transaxles to repair? All mine needs is the shift mechanism replaced. it is a good rear end it just wont go into gear. You can feel the shift shaft moving like it is not connected to anything. Also is there a market for these cabs? It is really neat, it's just not my style. I feel like I could sell the dump bed but I'm thing about putting it on my electric medalist.

Re: Need advise on a project
I Can grab the input shaft and turn it by hand and the hubs will rotate. The shaft for the FnR will however rotate 360 degrees with no affect on the gear box. You can feel that is broken. I know they are hard to find. That is how I got the TXT for such a sweet deal, the owner could not find a rear end. I just happen to have the MPT with no motor and a good rear end.

It's actually in really good shape, it's just on a trailer at the back of my property with the rest of the workhorse cart. the thing in it is the dump bed lol.
