Loud ringing sound
Yesterday my gas 2004 ezgo txt was sitting in garage and started making a super loud ringing sound. I couldn’t figure out what it was but happened to reach over and flip it from reverse to forward and it stopped. Today it did the samething. Has anyone had this happen? Anyone know what could cause this?
Thanks |

Re: Loud ringing sound
Probably an intermittent reverse buzzer?

Re: Loud ringing sound
I would replace it. They short out sometimes and cause this loud noise you hear especially if someone has pressure washed under seat
You can disconnect it but I like for them to work. Nothing like starting off in reverse when you think its in forward. Order a new one. |

Yeah it’s never had a backup beeper since I’ve had it. I’ll get one. What’s it actually called?

Re: Loud ringing sound
any 12v piezo buzzer will work. try a few until you find one with the tone/pitch that doesn't aggravate you every time you put the thing in reverse, i would stick with something waterproof or for automotive use
www.digikey.com is a good website for stuff like that. look for one with wired inputs, not PCB mount. they have them both with a solid tone, or a pulsed beeping tone as well. lots of options |

Re: Loud ringing sound
Here is some more information on a back up alarm that my be helpful: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-up-alarm.html
I agree with trig123 ... a functional back up alarm is a good safety feature ... it gets the dogs or cats sleeping under the cart moving ... alerts others to your movement ... and confirms when you are in forward or reverse. Try to pick out a not so annoying one ! |
