Default Forward shift not engaging right away on Yamaha G2

I had this Yamaha G2 for awhile and the forward shift is not engaging right away after shifting from reverse.

Reverse engage every time without an issue but when I shift it to forward then step on the gas petal, it wouldn't move until i pump the petal a bit then it would click in forward gear and move forward.

I did tried adjusting the forward cable and it doesn't seem to help any. The forward spring is fully compressed when in forward gear however the reverse spring is about half compressed. Should it be more loose?

I took both cables off to shift forward and reverse by hand. It seems to be engaging on each shift so I am guessing the cable is not shifting forward fully.

Both cables doesn’t seems to be stretched or broken. I will try putting it back on and make more adjustments

On thing I noticed that it hard to get it out of forward gear to go into reverse gear

I kind of have to nudge the cart little to get it out of forward gear if you know what I mean

Does it mean something or it just hard to shift by hand?

I put the cable back on and soaked all parts by spraying it down WD40 ....

Adjust each cable until the spring is almost fully compressed on each gear.

It's seems to fix it ..

However, I noticed I have another issue which is not related to this so I will start a new thread on it.

Did you move the shift mechanism by hand? Does it feel free or does it bind? Could need the oil changed in the trans?
