Default 94 G9 hard to start after driving

So the cart runs and drives great but after it gets warm and you stop driving for a moment it won't restart or has a real hard time starting. It does turn over and does backfire every once in a wile. if you let it sit for a few minutes it will start just fine and drive fine till you stop again. any Ideas on what the problem might be Thanks

Now that you say that yea it did not seam to have a problem with a full tank now that is under a 1/2 tank it has a problem. Should I put a fuel pump on it?

I would check the fuel flow. Take the fuel hose off the carb and put it in a jar or soup can, then try cranking the engine over a bit. See how the fuel comes out. Then fill the tank up and do the same thing.

The fuel should spurt out like a Friday the 13th victims slit throat lol. Spurt, spurt, spurt, like that. It should squirt maybe an ounce of fuel at a time, pressure should squirt 1-2 feet.

Yes maintaining the fuel system is always a great idea. Fuel filter at least once per year, or every 100 hours or so. Fuel pump is not a regular maintenance item, but they do go bad, so replacing is not a bad idea. Replacing all the rubber fuel and vacuum lines is a must if they look old, dirty, dry, cracked, hard, etc.

For a less expensive alternative to the Yamaha fuel pump, use a Briggs and Stratton unit, they work great, and at $16-$20 they are a bargain. (see photo)

Thanks for the idea on checking the fuel, I have replaced all rubber lines on the cart already. I also ordered a fuel pump but have not put it on I will try your trick for checking for fuel.
