Looking for an MCOR for '01 48v. Any ideas?

Hey guys,

My 2001 48v CC with a 500a alltrax needs an MCOR; that is, since I tried to "fix" it by popping it open like a coconut, thinking I could just clean the contacts. Before you all laugh, before I broke it open I did try everything I could to clean it with electrical cleaners, compressed air, etc., but those things are sealed with some sort of unobtainium and completely impenetrable. Anyway, I'm checking all the usual sources and can't believe that this little piece of plastic junk is worth 250 bucks. Anybody got any ideas or sources for these things that won't make my wife scream?

Golf Cart Parts Direct lists the MCOR at $155.58 and of course there would be shipping also? Is $250. installed or what? Have you checked with our FORUM sponsors?

Yeah, thats not too bad, thanks. After I posted, I did find one at everythingcarts for $159. But the first few I looked at looked like this...

Buggieslimited; $210.00
ebay; $200.00

I even found one another place, I can't remember where, that was like 345 bucks. Crazy stuff.

NOTE if you still have old MCOR ( with all parts ) that you tore apart I would like to have it for an experiment I'm doing. Happy to pay for shipping as I have 5 with only interior micro's defective and would like to figure a way to disasemble??
Please advise.

Try U.S. Golf Cars in Calidonia, Michigan. They are the Club Car dealer in West Michigan. I get MCOR's for all the 2002 Club Car carts for the golf courses I work for and it seems to me they were in the high $90 range. 48v.

Are you kidding me? I'm not a site sponsor so I'm not allowed to advertise our price on anything but geez... what a rip off..... Are people actually buying these things at this price? If so, I've found my new profession. Buying parts at full list price and re-selling them on ebay for near double their value. I'll be rich in no time.

P T BARNUM SAYS A SUCKER BORN EVERY DAY. I'M FINDING LOTS OF STUFF ON EBAY OVER PRICED? Seems that people think anything on EBAY is cheap without checking local prices? My Son purchased some antique auto parts through EBAY and got calls and notes from people wanting to pay up to twice as much if he would resell them? WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE WITH THE PRESENT ECONOMY AND NO JOBS AND PEOPLE STILL ARE THROW MONEY AWAY. GREED IS SHOWING UP ALL OVER? Once the Chinese start building a MCOR then we will have to contend with HIGH PRICED JUNK as well?
Biggest problem I have is some local cart dealers are putting Chinese parts in factory parts boxes and selling them as factory parts? Caught a cart dealer the other day taking loose bulk Chineses solenoids and putting them in factory boxes after selling parts to a customer while I was standing there talking with mechanic. Mechanic says he buys them by gross as sales are good and they are dirt cheap so he can turn a good profit on them and some other common parts?

I'm going by what mechanic said as there was NO MANUFACTURER LABEL NOR INSTRUCTIONS WITH UNITS, ( I WONDER HOW HE KNOWS WHAT VOLTAGE THEY ARE? )nor was there anything on box-crate he was getting parts out of ( had bar code on each solenoid but unable to see what it was as printed very small and light so these old eyes would need a magnafying glass ) on solenoid itself, I know its a federal law that used to be required showing manufacturer? I do know that first three numbers of bar code show manufacturer location ( 690 and 691 and 692 are China ) Tiawan is 471? If I get a chance I will check bar code out and let you know. BY THE WAY IT WAS NOT A CC.
