Default '05 PDS Quit

I got on my cart this afternoon and when I hit the gas it moved a inch or two and quit. When I lifted the seat, there was a small amount of smoke coming out of the Controller (Alltrax 400) / Solenoid area with a burnt smell. This thingy in the picture was to hot to touch. Also, I get no green light or click when I turn on the key.

What can it be and where do I start guys?

Who did you purchase the controller from? I'd call them to see if they can warranty it for you AllTrax controllers should come with a year warranty

I would see if Alltrax would service it, or maybe step up to one bigger.

That thingy is a capacitor and they do get hot. Maybe try some thermal paste and a heat sink on it? Just guessing at this point.

I don't know what Alltrax's policy is as far as servicing them, but it might be worth the call Monday.

When you get 2 years of controller use and it fails .... it is not the manufacture's problem in my opinion there is something mis-matched in the system or the driver is misusing the system.

It is still on the factory settings (or vendor settings) based on what I told them about my cart. Worked fine for 2 years without one problem then yesterday in moved a inch and zapped it.
