rivets have their advantages... won't vibrate loose, don't rust, fast, cheap, can be installed 'blind"

just drill them out and replace with what ever fastener you prefer.

If you have silver rivets, they have been replaced with aluminum pop rivets, stock ones are black plastic. Drill them out and like sonicj said use whatever fastener works for you.
I use pop rivets all the time so drilling them out and re riveting is a non-issue for me.
You could probably put some speed nuts over the holes and use sheet metal screws.

http://www.batteryminders.com/batter...n-p-16143.html

It may be worth what I paid for it but I just placed my order for the 36v BatteryMINDer and it is to come with a FREE battery monitor. Well on a reread it was for 12v only. Oh well I will wire it into the dash of the MH since the batteries are in the nose.

Gale, one of the features states:

■Charges and maintains from 1 to 6 batteries at a time (three 12 Volt batteries series-connected or six 6 Volt batteries series-connected) for less than 15¢ per month

That may have come from the marketing department.

It can charge 3 12v batteries at a time with 3 set of leads. They are not connected together! Or it can charge 6 six volt batteries set up as 3 banks of 12v (2 6v in series). Poor wording on the site. I just looked at that and bought the single Battery Minder (12v also) for my yard tractor, and Kabota tractor as they sit all winter. It will also let you charge more than one at a time in parallel. Running in the garage as I type.

Reading confuses me. I am just going to find where the motor gets its 36v and connect + to+ and - to - and see if it can hold its smoke.

And that too. :)

I have two B&D 4/10/20/40/110 battery chargers from WM. Since I am sure it will be next week before my BatteryMINDERer charger gets here. I may start running the Desulf Mode on four batteries Wed night. Three 24 hour back to back Desulf Mode cycles cleans a battery about as much as possible per B&D.

I will use the BatteryMINDERer charger 24/7 unless I drop the SOC below 90% then I will use the cart charger until it kicks off once.

As noted by others if a battery can get to 100% on a two amp (BatteryMINDERer states mine is 2.7 amp) it is better than doing it with a 30 amp charger. I guess cart chargers plan to have overnight to do their job so they do not have to rush it too much.

I assume you know we are way overthinking deep cycle batteries.

The advice in another thread to care for your batteries then buy new ones when they quit working was good advice.
