I think a charger / maintainer is the way to go if you plan on leaving the cart for a month or more, some neighbor may mean well but if he is not experienced with your fill system of golf carts in general ...... you can have problems.

I guess I am not too sure why my second car parked in the same AZ garage as my electric golf cart has no battery problem without being charged at all or the water never checked either. The only thing I do to the car is remove the negative cable. It starts every time after sitting for 5 months and reconnecting the cable.
