ez go dead after 1 week sitting batteries are good.
I have changed the selinoid. And the on and off switch is good. How do I check the power box. and the motor that powers the back wheels?

Welcome to BGW! Can you first tell us what year Ezgo you have and how you have determined that the batteries are in fact 'good'

Had them checked at the golf course and he said they were good. 1989 is the year. By looking at some of the diagrams I think it is a non'dcs. It has what looks like a big resistor box in the back.

Usually when a resistor cart is drawn down dead in a week the accelerator is not returning to zero and the solenoid is welded shut. This condition will drain the batteries.

I have changed the selenoid and recharged the batteries. I have had to adjust the linkage for returning the throttle to zero before. And I dont think that is the problem.

When you press the gas do you hear the solenoid click BEFORE you go or is it always ready to go without the solenoid clicking?

Do you still have a parasitic draw with the new solenoid?

Re: ez go dead after 1 week sitting batteries are good.
Google say "What is parasitic draw? All vehicles draw some power from the batteries when the car is shut off. Certain accessories such as clocks, radios remote door openers and alarms always need power. The normal power used is called parasitic draw. It is always a very low draw so it doesn't run the battery down. If you install accessories like shortwave radios or plug things like invertors and portable refrigerators into the accessory socket and operate them too long without the engine running you can drain your batteries to the point where the engine won't start. If there is an electrical short in the vehicle or a malfunctioning accessory it could be drawing much more than its normal load causing a drain on the batteries. If you leave your door open and the inside lights stay on all night you could drain the battery down till the car won't start. My 98 draws 3.5 amps with the front door open. Usually what happens is the truck is dead when you first go to start it."
Usually if there is a draw you will have a small spark when you connect the pack to the cart. What accessories do you have on the cart? |
