backup alarm stays on, no other functions

I have a 1996 e-z-go Medalist with the dcs controller. It has about 42 volts at charger recepatical. When i switch it from tow to run the backup alarm comes on and dont go off. the cart is dead. I replaced the f/r switch and got no change. Any ideas would be great

Is that beeping a diagnostic code? When mine stopped it gave me a diagnostic code that was right on. It said solenoid and that's what it was. Replaced the solenoid and on my way......

The beeping is a constant on off. What are the code sounds.

DCS carts do not give diagnostic codes.

how and when did this start? was it like out of the blue or did someone work on it?? what happened.................................

Most of that I have seen like this have a bad controller. Try removing battery power if you have not by having it it tow and disconnecting the main pack. Hook it back up and if it's still going on then you controller is bad, especially since it won't move.

shadowman it started the day i got it. i traded a tractor for the cart with new batteries. it has not run in a few years. i got it to ride to my sawmill and back. just cant get it to run. the wiring diagram shows some kind of resisted diode on the solenoid. i do not have this resistor. where can i find it.

cheapjeep2 i have un hooked the batteries numerous times. when i hit the throttle now the beep goes away but still no action. turn it to tow then back to run starts beeping again.

At the bottom of post 1 there is a document dcs.pdf, print this on a color printer then use a voltage meter to rule out everything, if you determine that all voltages are good all the way through the diagrams, then your controller is suspect. Not uncommon on DCS carts.

thanks for the help. It is a bad controller. Now i need to find the best controller for my application. Im going to run 26 inch tires. ill be hualing around 1000lbs of passange/cargo. mostly flat ground.
