Default 91 ez go

I have a 91 marathon, when I step on the throttle I have to push it half way down before it moves. It goes very slow (approx. 2 mph) I have new batteries in it which has been fully charged after 8 tries. Can anyone tell me if I have a problem with my controller or pot switch?

If you have an ohm meter (multimeter) you can check it. If you don't know how, just chime back...

91 marathon has a 2 wire connection from the potentiometer to the controller.
set your DVM to 20k ohms and plug a test lead into each of these wires. The meter should read 0 and gradually rise to 5k as the peddle is depressed.
