I need some help
Lately my cart has been acting up. For the past month or so it has been jerking violently when you try to lightly press the go pedal in either reverse or forward. And for the past week you could feel it surge when letting off the throttle. The other night I was about to put it in the barn and when I let off throttle it took off like a bat out of hell and didn't quit till I stomped the brake. Then while slowly coming into the barn it did it again and I ended up leaving black marks on a dirt floor from how hard I had to apply the brakes. I've been told to adjust my controller (Alltrax 4855) but it has been set where it is for 6 months or better with no adverse action before. Is it my ITS switch? I'm afraid to let my son or wife drive it because of the way its been acting here lately. Cart is a series converted 98 txt, 48v, hd everything with an alltrax 4855. I have a future txt project cart I could swap its with but wanted professional suggestions before doing so. Thanks, Boke.

Re: I need some help
Take the cover off your ITS box and see if there is water in it. If so just dry it out and see if that cures your throttle response.

Re: I need some help
Alrighty then, took the cover off the its and everything was nice clean and dry. Today the carts acting just as it should with no ill effects. WTH? When the cart did act up the other day, it sat in the yard for over a day through a rain shower. Maybe condensation formed in the its box? Can't figure it out, anyway I'm going riding a drink a few brewskies.

Re: I need some help
Inspect the ITS tunnel for hairline cracks. If you have a spare ITS, switch it out and see if the problem goes away. Also, follow all the control wiring and look for damage.

Wouldn't hurt to check the plug on your ITS either. Like " Gorno " said, check it and the one at the controller too. When I got my ITS assembly, the plug connectors were toast! Too much salt air.

Chris
You could always check the cont. of the micro in the ITS box, maybe it is acting up as well, cheap to replace. Let us know. |
