Re: Questions regarding charger and or battery pack......
The Super Start is a bit heaver than the T-105s (64# vs 63#) and probably newer, so that might account for the on-charge voltage differences.
I'd charge the whole pack until the SG stopped rising on the Trojans and then continue charging the Super Start by itself until it did same. Now I'm going to go out and play with my batteries and charger a bit. |

Re: Questions regarding charger and or battery pack......
Colt,
I have probably " overcharged " my batteries tenfold! I have never let them overheat, in fact when you do these repeated chargings, they run quite cool as they're only drawing 2 amps. At least that's where I can get mine after a few charge and slight discharge cycles. Make sure to check your water levels, because they will gas more and use more water. The performance difference is amazing! Now bear in mind I am using marine deep cycle batteries. These, however are very large. I can't tell you what amp hours they are, but they are 12V and weigh 110 lbs each. When I started using my cart it wouldn't make it through the day. Now I can run all day, and probably another, except I faithfully charge everyday that I use the cart. You will be quite pleased at what you can bring your batteries back to in performance! You mentioned one different brand battery. Since it is the one with the lowest voltage, that would be suspect to me. You know I'm going to advise you to get a matching Trojan, right? I have found that even though the specs may be the same, different brands are different in performance! Just my 2¢! |

Re: Questions regarding charger and or battery pack......
Okay. Well I will check all my water levels and fill as necessary. I still need to check my voltages as they have been at idle for going on 20 hours now. So I want to see which ones have dropped more than the others. Then I'll fill and recharge.
John, what is SG? specific gravity? How do I measure that? You said keep charging until it stops rising. Does that mean the voltage? I am a noob when it comes to this not to mention a 20 year old kid. So I have hardly any experience. Thanks guys. |

Re: Questions regarding charger and or battery pack......
Colt,
SG does mean specific gravity. You should get a gauge for this. It is available at most auto stores and marinas. It is a glass tube with a float inside. If the auto store looks at you like you're from outer space, go to a marina. Anyone with a boat has a SG gauge! Try to get one that is temperature corrected. They don't cost much! I'll look up the SG chart and post it. Here you go: Colt, The first number is percent of charge, second is specific gravity, third is voltage! :) Temperature: 7 degrees Fahrenheit Percent Hydrometer Unloaded charge reading voltage 100 1.242 12.49 75 1.187 12.16 50 1.137 11.86 25 1.097 11.62 0 1.077 11.50 Temperature: 17 degrees Fahrenheit Percent Hydrometer Unloaded charge reading voltage 100 1.245 12.51 75 1.190 12.18 50 1.140 11.88 25 1.100 11.64 0 1.080 11.52 Temperature: 27 degrees Fahrenheit Percent Hydrometer Unloaded charge reading voltage 100 1.248 12.53 75 1.193 12.20 50 1.143 11.90 25 1.103 11.66 0 1.083 11.54 Temperature: 37 degrees Fahrenheit Percent Hydrometer Unloaded charge reading voltage 100 1.252 12.55 75 1.197 12.22 50 1.147 11.92 25 1.107 11.68 0 1.087 11.56 Temperature: 47 degrees Fahrenheit Percent Hydrometer Unloaded charge reading voltage 100 1.255 12.57 75 1.200 12.24 50 1.150 11.94 25 1.110 11.70 0 1.090 11.58 Temperature: 57 degrees Fahrenheit Percent Hydrometer Unloaded charge reading voltage 100 1.258 12.59 75 1.203 12.26 50 1.153 11.96 25 1.113 11.72 0 1.093 11.60 Temperature: 67 degrees Fahrenheit Percent Hydrometer Unloaded charge reading voltage 100 1.262 12.61 75 1.207 12.28 50 1.157 11.98 25 1.117 11.74 0 1.097 11.62 Temperature: 77 degrees Fahrenheit Percent Hydrometer Unloaded charge reading voltage 100 1.265 12.63 75 1.210 12.30 50 1.160 12.00 25 1.120 11.76 0 1.100 11.64 Temperature: 87 degrees Fahrenheit Percent Hydrometer Unloaded charge reading voltage 100 1.268 12.65 75 1.213 12.32 50 1.163 12.02 25 1.123 11.78 0 1.103 11.66 Temperature: 97 degrees Fahrenheit Percent Hydrometer Unloaded charge reading voltage 100 1.272 12.67 75 1.217 12.34 50 1.167 12.04 25 1.127 11.80 0 1.107 11.68 Temperature: 107 degrees Fahrenheit Percent Hydrometer Unloaded charge reading voltage 100 1.275 12.69 75 1.220 12.36 50 1.170 12.06 25 1.130 11.82 0 1.110 11.70 |

Re: Questions regarding charger and or battery pack......
I have a hydrometer if that's what you mean Simple Man. It's glass with a float.
Alright for the voltage readings. Pack: 37.3v B1: 6.28v B2: 6.25v B3: 6.26v B4: 6.26v B5: 6.28v B6: 6.27v It was backed out and pulled right back in by my girlfriends dad. But not driven. well my hydrometer got smashed so looks like I'm out to buy one and post up those findings too. |

About a 10 min drive should take off the surface charge.
