Thanks... I'm wondering if I should just buy a new charger. This one is from 1988. The timer never worked since I bought the cart 1 yr ago. However, the charger still worked. Then yesterday the coil on the relay burned up so I replaced it with a new relay and it works just as good as it did before. But I'm worried about extended use with out the automatic shut off. I've already forgotten to take the cart off the charger and it sat for over 20 hours charging. so I can use any 36v charger as long as I have the right end on the charging cable right?

This will give you an idea of cost of new board:

Others here will probably have info on other chargers that would be a suitable replacement.

Cheap fix. Buy a wall timmer and put on it. Set it for 6 max. It will cut off then.
