35.8V indicates your battery pack has less than a 40% charge or has one or more bad cells. Having a fully charged battery pack, is the first step in eliminating it as a problem source. Measuring pack voltage and individual battery voltages while cart is misbehaving, are the next steps in eliminating the batteries for the list of suspects. Quote:

The controller is being told to pass Amps to motor. The controller is not passing Amps to motor. My guess is that the controller is bad. |

If I was going to do it, I'd jump from B- to M-. It is between those two terminals that the controller actually controls the current flow through motor. Be very careful. Make sure the cart is jacked up and securely blocked. That motor is going to get hit with every amp your battery pack is capable of producing and may arc weld jumper to terminals, so have an insulated sledge hammer handy to knock it off before the motor accelerates to destruction. |

These are 2 excellent answers JohnnieB
FYI You can pick up a battery disconnect for $5 at harbor freight and use this simple test below for series motors with the disconnect as the final connection. Works very well. Notice the test is done with just 18v. I keep one of these in the shop. http://www.harborfreight.com/heavy-d...tch-66789.html |

Re: 1993 marathon solenoid clicking cart wont go
Using full pack voltage to test a motor is not a great idea! As John said, things can go very wrong!
When using Scott's diagram, make sure you label all of your motor cables before you remove them. You will need a thin wrench to hold the nut next to the motor. If you don't hold this nut in place you will spin the entire stud, breaking the internal connections in the motor! Also, the disconnect shown is away from the batteries on purpose. You want no arcing anywhere near the batteries! ( another explosion hazard ) |
