Default How to speed up a EZGO Shuttle PDS 2

Just bought a 2007 EZGO Shuttle 6 PDS. From reading around I assume it's a PDS 2, the controller is a curtis 1264-5407, and the cart is 48 volts.

I know with the standard 36 volt PDS you can simply put a freedom chip in it and you're going 19 mph. This cart doesn't have the same chip port that I was expecting and may need to be programmed via a controller. Before I take it to a dealer and hassle with it, does anyone know how fast this cart can expect to go top speed?

I live in south Florida, no hills, and only street driving, so I'm looking for speed, 25 mph+. If the stock controller/motor won't do it, what the best way to achieve speed on this cart? Gears, new motor, new controller etc?

Thanks

An Aftermarket controller and HD solenoid and some hi-grade cables will get you going about 24mph on the flats with better torque for the hills.

Scotty - do you know what I can expect from the stock controller and motor combination?
