Re: 06 48v Club Car not charging
You're correct in your assumption that the sense voltage should be -48V.... If you're blowing that fuse as soon as you supply power I'd suspect the voltage suppressor diode in the charger has failed closed.

Re: 06 48v Club Car not charging
Ok. Thanks. I will troubleshoot further this evening looking into diode problem. Any suggestions on testing this diode?

Re: 06 48v Club Car not charging
I'd have to ohm one out and tell you the numbers. I honestly can't remember what it's supposed to be and I've gone home for the day and can't look it up. That's almost gotta be the issue though. That fuse is on the car exactly for that reason, suppressor diode failure.

Re: 06 48v Club Car not charging
Ok. If you can ohm that would be great. I would also love to know what a sense wire reads to ground on another 48v club car of this comparison. Thanks for your help David.

Re: 06 48v Club Car not charging
Ok, I have changed the voltage rectifior and the voltage suppressor relay. Still could not get the contact in the voltage suppressor to close. If I jump the AC normally open contact (this contact closes when -48v DC comes from the sense cable) in the voltage suppressor relay, the charger works. That is a lot. Wish I could attach a picture.

Re: 06 48v Club Car not charging
unplug the two small wires from the relay.... insert probes from multimeter into the ends of these wires and plug charger into cart. within 2-10 seconds you should see full battery voltage. If you don't, you've got an issue with your cart. Not your charger.
