Default New Club Owner/Need Battery and Motor Info

Hi,
I just pricked up a 2004 club car precedent 48 volt for very cheap(no batteries or charger) From scouring the posts I assume six 8 volt Trojan batteries would be a good choice. I will have about a 1000 dollars left, what is a good motor and controller upgrade. I have ordered a 6 inch lift kit with 23 inch tires and it will mainly run flat services possibly small inclines. I would like to be able to hit about 30mph so I can make short runs into town. I've read several different posts about DD motors, Plum quick and EMP. Just cant decide I which combo to get.

Welcome.....
Another Michigander.. What area?

Trojan, US batteries or Crown are the top three. As far as achieving 30mph, you are going to need a new controller, motor, battery cables and HD solenoid. You will be over $1,000 invested to hit that speed.
