Default terminology question

what is meant by a "thick can" motor or a "thin can"?

Most likely a reference to the motor's housing being made from cast metal (thick) or from rolled sheet (thin).

with kabby. I can't think of any other way to reference it.

But I don't who who would want to make or accept a thin can. It would be really cheap.

I dunno. My 16 year old 2hp GE took a crapload of abuse from me and was still running like a champ when I replaced it with the 8hp D&D limo can. No complaints from me about that thin can!
