98 ezgo wont run
I have a 98 ezgo and it will not run with out jumping the solenoid and then it runs fine any idea what this might be. The throttle clicks when depressed. Could it be the micro switch in the throttle?

Need to identify your cart to troubleshoot it.
Does your cart have a series wound motor or a Sepex? Also, a 1998 EZGO is likely to be a Medalist or a TXT, but it could have other body styles. If you have a Run/Tow switch on the controller cover, you've got a DCS (Sepex motor), if not it's a series. Does the solenoid click when throttle is pushed, or is it just the pedal microswitch you hear? Let us know what type drive system your cart has, series or DCS and we'll go from there. |

It Is A series motor. The switch makes the noise on the pedal and it has a new solenoid I just put on yesterday.

Also I just put a new solenoid on it and it does the same thing.

You've got a bad switch, connection or wire in the solenoid activation loop.
Here is a schematic with it traced out. Attach your DVM negative test lead to the main negative post on the battery pack and start looking for B+ (Battery pack voltage).  I'd start at the smaller of the three wires coming out the backside of the charger receptacle. That's where the activation loop begins. |

It was the little wire in the receptacle bad. Thanks for the help you made it easy to find and fix.
