Re: help jog my braindead self.
As a professional pilot that is wrong in every way. But a part of me thinks it's cool as heck!! I'm torn. lol
Anyone know where I can get a replacement diode? I can't find one anywhere for some reason. |

Re: help jog my braindead self.
It could be the fish-eye lens on the camera, but the rotor wash seemed to be almost non-existent.
During the late 60's and early 70's I got on and off a few Loaches with the rotors turning, some of the later ones being acoustically suppressed. (No, not the 500P variant, but they were a lot quieter than the regular OH-6) Anyway, I seem to remember something more than a gentle breeze. ------------- As for the diode, a 1N4004 or similar will work. |

Re: help jog my braindead self.
Sweet, thanks.
That's the Difference between a two bladed Robbie and a 4 bladed OH-6. The R22's rotor wash is pretty light. Combine that with an empty weight of less than 900lbs. The OH-6's empty weight is 1965lbs. For perspective my helicopter that I fly weighs 2600lbs with a max take off of almost 5,000lbs. |
