Marathon brake adjustment
I have the cart up on stands to route the battery meter wires to the rear and probably need to adjust the brakes. Is it kosher to adjust the brake cables up close to the foot brake linkages?
Are there some measurements and clearances that need to be considered? Also what is the reccomemded air pressure for the tires? (1992 Marathon 36 Volt 4x2)? |

Owner's, Parts, and Service Manuals:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...g-manuals.html I don't know if they have your manual, or if the brakes are the same, but I'd download the manuals anyway, and check the chapter on Brakes. |

Re: Marathon brake adjustment
Ok... Stickies? please explain.
I still haven't found any information on a 1992 Marathon Electric cart brakes. Does the 1992 Marathon have automatic adjustors, or can you use the star wheel like on the old Chevrolet cars Pre-automatic adjusting brakes? I don't want to take a chance on messing up the auto adjustors if the 1992 has them, Thanks! |

Re: Marathon brake adjustment
Just replaced the brakes on my 92. Once you pull the wheel you will see the access hole for the adjuster. I used a screwdriver. Very simple adjustment. Tighten them until you have slight tension on the wheel while it spins. Then just back off a little. Not sure if thats the exact way of adjusting the tightness but mine is working just fine.

Thanks auster, that is the info I needed, didn't find the access hole because I was looking on the back side with the wheel still on the cart.
