85 CC 36 volt master solenoid test
I have a 36v 5 solenoid cart with no movement with fully charged, rebuilt last year with less than 1 year old batteries. (have one of Scotty's volt meter on dash) I placed the cart on jacks and tried to jump the big posts on nothing happens. I replaced solenoid with a new one still no movement. replaced mirco switch at F&R switch have not checked 5 in box. Did not have a meter at the time. what am I missing on jumping the solenoid or my new thought is the key switch bad

Re: 85 CC 36 volt master solenoid test
It is likely one of more of the peddle box micro switches has failed. The master is triggered each time somebody presses the gas... so since 1985 = about a million times?

Re: 85 CC 36 volt master solenoid test
solenoids activate (close) when + and - is applied to the 2 small terminals. This creates an electromagnetic field which draws the contact bridge into place and basically connects the 2 large terminals inside the thing. You are missing one of the activation polarities, test to see if you are missing the + or the -.

Re: 85 CC 36 volt master solenoid test
Darn good thing you had the cart up on blocks !!!! That could have been very dangerous and I'm sure the least would have been some major damage to the cart and house. Smart move.
Now for the current problem, you have 2 things happening, One off is on. And second is the full throttle signal at rest. Check the F&R micro wiring and check that the 5 micro switch slide is not installed backwards. |
