New wheels and Speed code 4
Just got back from the dealer today. Got speed code 4. Not too impressed. Everything I read about 4 is that I should get at least 19mph. I got 16/17mph. I watched the tech do the upgrade and saw the "4" on the handheld screen. They gave me the codes as well that they had to send for.
Not a huge deal. I'm fine with 17 mph just thought it was strange. Also put on the new sneaks too. Next is seat covers and i'm good for a little while. Anybody have same issue with speed code 4? Thanks |

Are you running stock sized tire diameters?

Yes. I did the speed test with the stock tires. Measured the speed with my garmin gps.

Re: New wheels and Speed code 4
The cart was set on code 2 prior to upgrade. It wouldn't go past 13mph. After the upgrade to code 4 with stock tires it went 15/16 mph. Took it out with the new 10 in wheels/tires and got 16/17mph.
I greased and cleaned the front hubs, changed the axle oil and I have new charged batteries. |

That is the absolute MAX I have a stock cart with speed code 4, and it serves me fine. I am going to be honest and I don't think I have ever actually GPS'd my cart. I probably should and see what I'm getting. |

Thanks jake. If you do put a gps on your ride, i'd be interested in what speed you get.

You should be at 19 easily - unless - you are going uphill or very, very heavy.
I've had 5 or 6 reprogrammed and they always hit at least 19 on gps. |

Re: New wheels and Speed code 4
My cart ran in the 16's on speed code 4 on stock tires and wheels. I pumped the pressure to the rated pressure and gained almost a mile per hour. The stock wheels are just under 18" diameter. I put 12" LoPro rims and wheels with a diameter approx 18.25". Speed up to 18 mph on the level with full charge on good batteries. Installed a Plum Quick Executioner motor with stock controller and hit 30mph! As a do over, I would not spend money on the Speed Code upgrade, but just go straight to the PQ Bandit for $225 and hit around 24mph.

Re: New wheels and Speed code 4
Looks like I'm getting the same results. I'm going to live with this speed now and do the Plum Quick in the off season. I'm with you about not doing the code 4.
