New Batts - time to bite the bullet
Since the conventional wisdom around here is that the 4x12v Precedent setup should last about 5 years on a set of batts, I was determined that I was going to squeeze 6 out of them. And given that mine is a golf course rescue that I have no idea of the care and history of for the first four years, I think 6 years was pretty good. But, they are shot now. Not a lot of choices where I live. I have to go 45 miles to get any at all and what is available are Trojan T-1275's at $169 each. I found them cheaper last summer at $152 but messed around and didn't buy them and they are now 4 hours away from me. These as good as any, better than most choice for my cart? Anything to be significantly gained by upgrading the cables at the same time?

Re: New Batts - time to bite the bullet
Salt,
Try your local auto mechanic, they can get any battery you need. I got mine from my trusted local auto repair shop. As far as wires, scottyb makes a great product. A little more pricey, but the quality is worth it and they will probably last the life of the cart. I got his 2 gage cables and they never get warm. |
