Default Why & How to Desulfate a Battery

My first post here gents… appreciate any assistance I can find. Have tried the FAQ and not seen anything on this so hope it’s a useful topic.

Have seen a number of things online about ‘battery reconditioning/desulfating’ using Epsom salt mixture. I have a fleet of 80 Club Car Precedents and have some with ‘older batteries’ nearing their 5-7 year expected life span. Just wondering if this process can/will truly extend the life of a battery and/or ‘restore’ some of them with lost power due to their long life. A few carts can not make 36 holes in one day and our Marshal carts certainly can't as they get used even more.

Lastly, I have been reading up on ‘desulfator’ units. Do these work? Is it something that must constantly be connected to the batteries or can I buy one unit and use it on different batteries to ‘recharge’ them?

Anyone have any experience?

You did well, 5-7 years is all you can expect from a battery pack.
It is easy to prevent and impossible to reverse sulfated batteries.
Consider that IF the the salts and machines really worked, everybody would be signing their praise.
Read up on sulfation, and you will learn that it is basically an irreversible condition once it advnces as it does in ALL lead acid batteries eventually.
