Radio wires installation
I have gone through numerous threads on this subject but would like to confirm the wiring routing.
I have a 2008 PDS, my lights were installed by the dealer and hooked up to the battery pack. I will be installing an accessory battery for the balance of electronics. For now, I was planning on leaving the lights hooked up to the battery pack since I do not do a lot of night driving. For the radio, I assume the yellow and black to the accessory battery. With regard to the red wire, do I need to run this through a toggle switch if the radio itself has an on and off button? I assume I will get a small battery drain from the radio if I want to keep the radio "alive" when it is not being utilized. I assume by putting a switch on the the red wire would prevent the radio from being turned on or left on, assuming you turn the switch off. If I am using an accessory battery, can the red wire be hooked through the on and off key switch? Thanks |
